Dynamic Light Scattering Instrument:
Litesizer DLS
- Particle size measurements from the nanometer to the micrometer range
- DLS back scatter detection ensures broad concentration range
- Automatic measurement modes
- Continuous transmittance measurement
The Litesizer DLS series characterizes nanoparticles and microparticles at the touch of a button. With these dynamic light scattering instruments, you can determine particles in dispersion and peptides or macromolecules in solution over a broad concentration range, which reduces your sample preparation time.
Key features
Benefit from the perfect angle choice – whatever your sample
- Ensure high resolution of different size populations via multi-angle particle sizing (MAPS)
- Choose from three detection angles (side, back, or forward scattering) for optimal parameter settings
- Manually select the most appropriate angle for your dynamic light scattering instrument or use automatic angle selection
- Benefit from the versatile back scattering angle, which is ideal for turbid samples as it reduces multiple scattering events and ensures optimal data quality
Rely on our cmPALS technique for zeta potential measurements
- Perform zeta potential measurements via electrophoretic light scattering with Litesizer DLS 700 and Litesizer DLS 500
- Conduct highly sensitive measurements at low sample concentrations (down to 0.1 mg/mL) with our patented cmPALS technique (European Patent 2 735 870)
- Enjoy shorter measuring times and minimal sample degradation with cmPALS
- Get highly reproducible zeta potential measurements with our unique Ω-shaped capillary of the zeta potential cuvettes
Stay flexible with the particle concentration measurement mode
- Perform calibration-free particle concentration measurements of up to three different size populations present within one sample with Litesizer DLS 700
- Use this mode based on single angle DLS or multi-angle particle sizing (MAPS) to ensure the applicability to monodisperse and polydisperse samples over a wide concentration range
Get continuous transmittance measurements for sample monitoring
- Enjoy instant feedback on your sample – the dynamic light scattering instruments continuously measure transmittance
- Take advantage of automatic optimization of measurement parameters (e.g., measurement angle, focus position, duration)
- Access information about the onset of sedimentation or aggregation within a series measurement
Determine refractive index with the same instrument
- Measure refractive index of the solvent at the exact wavelength and temperature of DLS or ELS measurements (European Patent 3 023 770) with Litesizer DLS 700 and Litesizer DLS 500
- Ensure maximum accuracy of particle size and zeta potential results under all experimental conditions
- Determine the refractive index within ±0.5 % with Litesizer DLS 700 and Litesizer DLS 500
Control your measurements with just a few clicks
- Manage data with Kalliope, our user-friendly, particle sizing software
- Know your input parameters, measurement signals, and results at a glance with our unique one-page workflow
- Quickly see your measurement results thanks to predefined standard reports and structured result overviews
- Take a deep dive into your data with an analysis function, Excel export, and customizable report templates
- Comply with 21 CFR Part 11
