Dynamic Light Scattering Instrument:
Litesizer DLS
- Particle sizing from 0.3 nm to 10 µm
- Cost-effective entry to dynamic light scattering
- DLS back-scatter detection ensures broad sample coverage
- Transmittance measurement to live-monitor sample behavior
Litesizer DLS delivers best-in-class particle sizing with automatic angle selection to prevent errors, while MAPS technology yields the highest-possible peak resolution. Continuous transmittance monitoring detects sedimentation and agglomeration during measurement, enhancing measurement reliability.
Unique to our system, cmPALS and Omega Cuvette improve zeta potential accuracy and repeatability by addressing aging effects and minimizing electrical gradient.
Litesizer DLS also offers fluorescence and polarization filters not only for particle size measurements, but also particle concentration in both MAPS three-angle and single-angle modes.
Key features
Three angles, real-time monitoring for better sizing
Litesizer DLS offers the choice between three different detection angles to measure a wide array of samples, while eliminating errors with automatic angle selection.
The Multi-Angle Particle Sizing (MAPS) measurement mode delivers exceptional resolution, supporting advanced analytical precision.
Unique to the market, our continuous transmission monitoring provides live feedback on sample behavior throughout measurement, giving users instant information on sedimentation or agglomeration. This real-time insight enhances measurement quality and reliability, making our system the optimal choice for accurate and dependable particle analysis.

Market-leading zeta potential analysis
Our dynamic light scattering instrument’s patented cmPALS technique is uniquely designed to eliminate reproducibility uncertainties caused by aging effects.
Additionally, the Omega Cuvette’s innovative design minimizes the gradient in the electrical field, further enhancing reproducibility (± 3 %). With an industry-leading particle size range for zeta potential measurement, from 1.3 nm to 100 µm, our instrument offers the broadest capability available, ensuring precise and consistent results across a vast array of applications.

Kalliope: The benchmark software for particle sizing
The Kalliope software requires very little user training.
Measurements can be performed in only three clicks. Our unique one-page layout provides an instant overview of input parameters, measurement signals and results, giving you everything you need at a glance. Quickly access measurement results with predefined standard reports and organized result summaries.
For more detailed analysis, use the customizable report templates, Excel export options, and advanced analysis functions. Plus, Kalliope is fully compliant with 21 CFR Part 11, ensuring robust data integrity and regulatory adherence.

All the measuring modes you need
Enhance your versatility with Litesizer DLS 701’s particle concentration measurement mode, enabling calibration-free concentration analysis for up to three distinct size populations within a single sample. This mode supports both monodisperse and polydisperse samples across a wide concentration range, whether you’re using single-angle DLS or MAPS.
Additionally, measure the refractive index of solvents at the exact wavelength and temperature of your measurements (European Patent 3 023 770), ensuring maximum accuracy for particle size and zeta potential results. Litesizer DLS 701 and DLS 501 provide precise refractive index measurements within ±0.5 %.
To top it off, the Litesizer DLS series also offers molecular mass measurement.

Most capable filtering options available
The Litesizer DLS 701 and 501 are the only dynamic light scattering instruments on the market that offer users the unique choice between fluorescence and polarization filters which can be applied in all three angle directions. This enables particle concentration analysis, as well as MAPS three-angle or selected single-angle analysis with applied filters – permitting types of analysis not possible with comparable instruments (e.g. concentration determination of quantum dots).
